Built a Next.js marketplace for ethnic wear with 3000+ products spanning sherwanis, kurtas, and Modi jackets. Implemented occasion-based filtering for wedding, haldi, and mehendi events. Integrated a verified seller system, Razorpay payments, and a 10-day returns policy. Created product showcases, gift cards, and a fully mobile-responsive design for the premium wedding fashion market.

The Challenge

What problem needed solving?

India's wedding ethnic wear market is dominated by offline stores and fragmented resellers. Buyers had no trusted digital platform to discover and purchase premium sherwanis, kurtas, and bridal sets — especially for specific occasions like haldi, mehendi, and sangeet. The client needed a marketplace that could handle multiple vendors, build buyer trust, and replicate the richness of an in-store experience on mobile.

How we solved it

We architected a full Next.js multi-vendor marketplace built for scale. The core insight was that wedding shoppers don't browse by product type — they browse by occasion. So we made occasion-based filtering the primary discovery mechanism. We layered verified seller badges, Razorpay's trusted payment infrastructure, and a generous 10-day returns policy to build purchase confidence. Every design decision prioritised mobile since over 80% of the target audience shops on smartphones.
